Napoli have maintained their spot at the top of the Italian Serie A table after the latest round of games. Their position was under threat from second-placed AC Milan ahead of a tricky match with hosts Fiorentina on Sunday night.

Seven-time European champions AC Milan started the latest set of Italian Serie A games with a two-point deficit to Napoli and they were able to move a point ahead via the battling away win over fellow Champions League campaigners Atalanta.Duvan Zapata (penalty) andCroatian midfielder Mario Pasalicscored for Atalanta in the final four minutes but it was not enough to rescue at least a point as they were beaten 3-2 by the Rossoneri.
