Gonzalo Higuain rumors about Napoli leaving Club

Gonzalo Higuain has created a large confusion with his agent recently admitting that the player could leave Napoli in the summer after the club failed to meet its promises.

Higuain has been one of the finest strikers in the Italian Serie A since his move to Napoli in 2013. Ever since he came to the Italian club while they were managed by Rafa Benitez, Higuain has consistently been as one of the top scorers in the league so much so that his 24 goals in his debut season remains his worst record till date.

This excellent goalscoring record has led to Higuain linked with several top clubs across European football. At 28 years of age, the striker may see this summer as his last opportunity to once again play for a big club. Higuain experienced at the prospect of playing for a club challenging at the very top of European football when he was at Real Madrid. Apart from being able to win numerous trophies, it would also give him a much bigger profile as far as international football is concerned. Right now, Higuain has been consistently overshadowed by Lionel Messi. The retirement of the latter should provide Higuain with more opportunities in the Argentina national team.

Higuain’s agent says that Napoli promised that the club would be challenging for top honours every season and this has not been the case.“There was talk of a project worthy of the Champions League, a convincing plan to fight for the Scudetto. This year we finished the first half of the season in first place, but the club made zero effort because we didn’t see them make major signings to fight for the Scudetto. The President [Aurelio De Laurentiis] has the right to ask for his [€94m] release clause, and we have the right not to agree with the project and not renew the contract, that’s only right,” said Higuain’s agent.

Napoli have managed to top the Italian Serie A following a convincing 3-1 win over Sassuolo

Napoli have managed to top the Italian Serie A following a convincing 3-1 win over Sassuolo.

The victory was achieved thanks to a brace from Gonzalo Higuain in addition to another former Real Madrid player –José Callejón – also scoring in the game. Even though Napoli have been completely convincing in the 2015-16 season, their performances have gone along well to produce results largely because of the presence of Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine striker has achieved a new dimension in terms of scoring. He may have been brought to the club by Rafa Benitez, but Higuain has unlocked a huge asset within himself.

The striker has scored 24 goals in just 27 appearances this season. His one goal per game record in the league has been astounding as well. This has been the reason behind Napoli managing to keep their heads above Juventus in the league table. Juventus have been making a stunning charts in the last couple of months after achieving more than nine wins on the bounce. Napoli have a big test in the form of a home match against Inter Milan coming up. Higuain has credited manager Maurizio Sarri for his recent form. The 60-year-old may achieve cult status at the club if he manages to maintain the form until the end of the campaign.

“I am working, I have confidence thanks to the coach, my teammates and the club. Sarri has a lot to do with my form, a lot. I thank him and just want to maintain this form. We have to continue like this, we’re in good form and have to make the most of it. Now we have Tuesday and want to keep going,” said Higuain.“I remain confident at this moment Higuain is the best centre-forward in the world. I hope the team can do even better and continue to improve,” said the manager after the win overSassuolo.
