NAPOLI: STRONG FINISH MIGHT KEEP GATTUSO

Napoli manager GennaroGattuso might still be in the dugout at the club when the new season starts in August according to the publication from the stables of La Repubblicain Italy. It was revealed that a strong finish to the season could aid Gattusoto sign a new deal at the club.

Gattuso and Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis didn’t see eye-to-eye in the winter when the club was going through a rough patch but things have changed since the return to fitness of the club’s key players. Under the watchful eyes of Gattuso, Napoli are one of the form teams in the Italian Serie A over the last two months and are favourites to secure a Champions League spot that was unlikely during the winter time.

The aforementioned report disclosed that both Gattuso and De Laurentiis have not closed the door on repairing their relationship with Napoli currently enjoying a good run of form in the league.

Several managers have been linked with the Napoli job in recent weeks. Former manager Maurizio Sarri has been mentioned. In addition to Sarri, the likes of ex-AS Roma manager Luciano Spalletti, Empoli boss AlessioDionisi and many more have been touted as potential replacement for Gattuso whose contract expires in June.

Gattuso and his Napoli players saw off Torino away from home in their last league game on Monday to put themselves in a fantastic position to qualify for Champions League football in the new season. Napoli won 2-0 thanks to goals from French player TiemoueBakayoko and Victor Osimhen. The two goals came within two first half minutes and it led to the victory that took Napoli to third place.

Napoli have a relatively good five fixtures to end this Italian Serie A season thus making them one of the favourites to bag a Champions League spot. Atalanta, Juventus, AC Milan and Lazio are all in the running for a Champions League spot.

Carlos Neto, Kaio Jorge’s agent recently revealed in an interview that there are truly several clubs interested in the young striker and that the player himself would cherish the adventure of playing in Eurppe one day.

Neto’s comments clearly suggest that his client would be very interested in testing himself in Europe, giving all interested clubs the green light to make a move for the young attacker when the summer window allows for that to happen.

Serie A side Napoli want Everton Soares, hoping the Gremio star would join them this summer. However, the player’s agent has come out to deny reports of talks almost reaching a conclusion. Failure for Napoli, Match Draw at SPAL

Napoli could not gain ground on Serie A as they were held back by a 1-1 draw in a struggling SPAL. Juventus and Inter Milan are known to be the pacesetters for Serie A in which Napoli was supposed include themselves after the supposed-to-win match. Though Arkadiusz Milik put them in front very early in the first half of the match, soon the side for Carlo Ancelotti fastened themselves by getting a strike from Jasmin Kurtic. Fabian Ruiz, who played as a substitute hit the post for the visitors because they were trying to push for the winner in the second half. This is the third time when the home side avoided getting defeated in this season.

Juventus and Inter Milan, who are positioned at first and second place respectively, were surprised to see draws made by Parma and Lecce, but the draw which came from Napoli left them at the 4th position with 17 points in the table. Team AS Roma shifted to 5th position after winning the match against AC Milan with 2-1 at Stadio Olimpico to carry on with the crisis of visitors. Edin Dzeko was able to lead the hosts from the front during the first half of the match before Theo Hernandez drew with the level of Milan in the second half.
