NAPOLI WANTS TO SIGN AJAX ACE

Napoli are looking at signing Morocco ace Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in the summer according to reports from Italy. Italian tabloid CalcioMercato claims that the Blues have identified the playmaker as a key addition for the summer.

Ziyech has emerged as a key player for Ajax since his £11 million move from FC Twente in 2016. Blessed with a creative ability and an eye for goal Ziyech’s performances have turned heads across Europe this season.

The Morrocco international was impressive last season winning the Ajax player of the year for a second year in a row. He is currently representing his nation at the Afcon tournament taking place in Egypt.

Ajax are known for placing a premium on their players and the Morocco international is not expected to go cheaply.

Napoli would have to pay around £35 million for the attacking midfielder. It is understood that Carlo Ancelloti is a huge fan of the midfielder. Napoli are keen to sign an attacking midfielder as they look to replace MarekHamsik who left for China in January.

Chelsea have also emerged as a late entry to the list despite the current FIFA ban placed on the team.
Chelsea are hopeful that the ban would be overturned as they want to give incoming manager Frank Lampard funds to spend.

The London club is looking to strengthen the team in the summer and reduce the overall age of the squad. First team starters Willian and Pedro are on the wrong side of 30 and displayed below average performances in the past season.

Ziyech is considered to be a quality player and would be a transforming player for either Napoli or Chelsea.

It would be interesting to see how this transfer develops in the coming months as more teams become linked to the talented playmaker.
