MASCHERANO NEXT?

Javier Mascherano of Barcelona is a player that has aroused suspicion of leaving his current club in Spain with the possibility of joining his countryman Gonzalo Higuain in Napoli and working once more with Rafael Benitez as they both worked together in Liverpool some years ago.

Higuain describes Mascherano as a "warrior" and the forward is confident that the fans in Italy will be happy to see him joining Napoli.

"We know it is hard to move in January but the director Bigon is doing everything possible," the ex-Real Madrid player told Radio Kiss Kiss’’.

"Hopefully someone will come. We are doing well, but we could be helped to be better. The fans would like to see a warrior like Mascherano arrive. Benitez knows him well from Liverpool. We will see."

The Italian club Napoli has also tried to sign another player of Barcelona, Alex Song. The Cameroonian midfielder is not a regular starter for Gerardo Martino as he has to find playing time and faces competition with the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and the rest of the midfielders of the Spanish club that are fighting to get a chance to get into the starting lineup of Martino.

Rubin Kazan’s Yann M’Vila is another midfielder reinforcement that is on the radar of Napoli and Rafael Benitez but the Frenchman is nothing more than an alternative as the main target that Benitez wants to secure are Maxime Gonalons and Raja Nainggolan.

Nainggolan is an impossible option as he already completed his move to As.Roma some days ago and Lyon’s Maxime Gonalons seems to be out of the reach of Napoli, which is why the midfielder of Rubin Kazan, Yann M’Vila is a player that might be easier to sign for the former coach of Liverpool Rafael Benitez.
