ARSENAL SCOUTING OSIMHEN EXTENSIVELY – REPORT

North London giants Arsenal have reportedly been scouting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen extensively as they bid to add more attacking reinforcements to the first team. CBS Sports reported the Arsenal interest in Napoli hitman Osimhen and that they have added him to their five-man transfer wishlist.

Arsenal opted not to sign an average replacement when Pierre-EmerickAubameyangleft the club to sign for Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona during the winter transfer window. The exit of Aubameyang has left the Gunners with the duo of skipper Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as the remaining central striker options.

The Gunners are almost certain to sign at least one striker since Frenchman Lacazette and young Englishman Nketiah are on the verge of leaving the club. Both Nketiah and Lacazette have a few months left on their respective Arsenal contracts meaning that they could leave the club on a free transfer this summer if they are not able to agree a new deal.
Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Osimhen is in his second season at Napoli whom he joined from French champions Lille at the start of last season. In his first season at Napoli, Osimhen scored ten goals as he struggled to stay fit for an extended period of time. The ex-VFL Wolfsburg attacker has scored more goals for Napoli this season though he has not managed to stay fit throughout the course of the season. Osimhen has 15 goals and four assists in 25 games in all competitions this season. His goals have propelled Napoli to within one point of leaders AC Milan with seven games to play in the race for the Italian Serie A.
Osimhen is not the only striker on the Arsenal transfer wishlist. Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak, Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lille star Jonathan David and Inter Milan attacker Lautaro Martinez.
