Sinisa Mihajlovic has claimed that his team did not deserve any points

Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has claimed that his team did not deserve any points after their poor performance against archrivals Inter Milan in the previous outing.

The game ended in a 1-0 defeat and the club are back to square one as far as form is concerned. A win against Palermo will put things back on track. It is especially important given that AC Milan can take advantage of the wobble in form shown by champions Juventus. Since only three spots are available for the Champions League places, Milan have to be in contention from the word go.

Getting a result against Palermo at home is easier said than done. The opponents have started the season in undefeated fashion and they will be hard to beat even in front of the home supporters. Milan, though, will have much better influence from striker Mario Balotelli, who has recently returned from Liverpool on a loan deal. So far, he has not had much of an influence and the Italian international can be excused since it is his first few games upon return. Sinisa Mihajlovic says that Milan have had matches in which they could have easily won, but he would rather talk about the upcoming games.

"In Florence we deserved to lose, against Empoli we should not have won but we did and in the derby we didn't get what we felt we had earned with our performance. Perhaps we should have drawn with both Empoli and Inter, but then we would only have two points. Everyone expected more from us in this first month, but for the time being we deserve the points we have. The statistics never lie. We have had chances to shoot but have chosen other options. We must improve and take advantages of the chances we get better,” saidMihajlovic.
